How to Get Rid of Acne – The Essential Facts

How to Get Rid of Acne For Real

Millions of people suffer from acne. They live their lives fearing the next breakout. Fortunately, you do not have to. There are some things you can do that can help eliminate or reduce your acne. Many of the acne cures out on the market promise some sort of instant acne cure. However, this is blatantly false. There are no miracle acne cures out there, at least not yet. There are treatments, yes, but no "cures." Your best bet against acne is to follow a strict regimen that combines elements of facial hygiene, proper dieting, and the use of acne medication. If you follow these steps, your acne will disappear with time.

There are a few key steps that you CAN do that will help reduce your blemishes

1. Keep Your Face Clean
Acne is caused by an excess production of oil in the skin. The oil clogs the pores and blackheads form as a result. Washing your face with mild acne soap twice a day will help remove this excess oil and bacteria from your skin.

2. Drink Lots of Water
Drinking water is good for your health – and your skin. Water flushes those harmful toxins out of your skin, making your skin look and feel better.

3. Eat Healthy
Avoid foods that contain saturated and trans fats. There have been links between unhealthy eating habits and acne outbreaks. If you eat healthy, you increase your chances of successfully fighting your acne.

4. Wash Your Sheets
Each time you go to bed, you smear facial oils and bacterial into your pillow. This can actually cause you to have breakouts, since you are rubbing the oil and bacteria over different parts of your face. Change your pillow cases several times week.

5. Use Acne Medicures
Each of these treatments have pros and cons – so it's important that you do your research before embarking on a specific acne treatment. In general though, if you suffer from mild to moderate acne, it's best to start with Benzoyl peroxide as a treatment. With a strict regimen of face care and continued use, you have a good chance of drastically reducing your acne (or even eliminating it). If Benzoyl peroxide is not effective, you can scale up to something stronger.

o Benzoyl peroxide.
o Salicylic acid
o Chemical Peels
o Accutane
o Antibiotics
o Retin-A

6. Try Acne Home Remedies
There are many acne home remedies out there right now. You may or may not have success with them, but lots of people have claimed they are effective.

Treating your acne can be difficult, but if you are dedicated to getting a clear, acne-free complexion, you can do it! When trying to cure acne, persistence is the key thing. If something does not work, do not lose heart, simply try something else.
