Acne is a skin condition that occurs most often around the adolescent ages, usually starting at nine. Most people get lucky and the acne condition stops around age 19. Unfortunately for some of us though, acne lasts long into our adult years. Thankfully there is a large amount of adult acne cure options we can use to solve our dilemma. Regardless of the treatment method we do use, we are going to need to practice a good diet and hygiene.

Depending on the severity of the acne case each individual has, over-the-counter products are usually a reliable answer. Now, the really sever cases on the other hand, may require a dermatologist or skin care specialists attention.

However, if you are dealing with acne scars you should be concentrating on a different type of method. This is because scars are categorized as dark spots, or deep lesions on our skin trying to heal, while acne is categorized as blackheads and whiteheads, yellow or red areas, oily skin, pus, or inflamed lesions. Scars are matured acne which is why you would require a different type of method.

When it comes to mild or moderate types of acne you must understand your looking for ADULT acne cure which will be very different than the common cure for active teens. Adult acne, thankfully, will respond well to over-the-counter creams and ointments. These could be most products containing salicylic acid and / or benzoyl peroxide. These creams would have been applied on the affected area a few times through the day to control the symptoms. The most important thing however, is that you must keep your acne prone areas clean and free of oil to help prevent more acne from occurring.

Other methods that are not as popular would be prescription anti-bacteria medications, hormone therapy or even laser light treatments. These options are usually only recommended for extremely severe cases of acne. Laser light treatments work by extremely drying the skin out killing all form of bacteria.

Even with any of these options it is still really important for you to practice a healthy and clean diet along with good hygiene. Your diet should consist of minimal fat, grease, and oils, along with lots of fruits and veggies. You will notice dramatic improvement in your skin after only a few days of this.
